We are currently searching for a Commissioning Authority to perform commissioning duties and manage commissioning projects from concept to completion for various clients. This position reports to the Vice President of Commissioning and has no direct reports.
Major responsibilities are as follows:
Lead and manage the day-to-day commissioning process from Program Development through Post Construction. Develop and/or review Owners Project Requirements (OPR). Meet with the design team and review design documents for consistency with the OPR. Prepare commissioning specifications. Conduct meetings and prepare meeting minutes. Review contractor submittals and prepare comments. Prepare pre-functional checklists and verify contractor compliance. Observe installation of MEP systems and prepare field reports. Prepare and implement functional performance tests; identify and document deficiencies. Review O&M manuals. Review contractor training plans. Observe and document contractor training of Owner’s staff. Conduct systems training as needed. Prepare systems manuals. Perform warranty walk through inspections. Prepare Measurement & Verification (M&V) plans. Maintain commissioning projects within budget. Perform other projects/duties as assigned.
Lead and manage the day-to-day process of Retro-commissioning through the steps of planning, investigation, implementation, and verification.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills. This person is passionate about playing a role in delivering a building and systems that work and meets the Owner’s Project Requirements. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Commissioning Certification, and LEEDAP is desirable. 5+ years of experience with building design, construction, and operations is essential. Background in facility operation and maintenance is required. Must have a working knowledge of commissioning requirements pertaining to HVAC, LEED, ASHRAE guidelines and standards, DDC control systems, etc. Ability to manage multiple projects, identify problems, and conduct root cause analysis is essential. Must have written examples of having been the lead commissioning authority on at least five projects, with three in new construction and two in retro-commissioning. Strong interpersonal and written skills are required. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and MS Project is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD is desirable.
